Our Work

Objective:pi LLC is in the business of information technology consulting, program/project management, and training. The firm is differentiated by our conviction that many of the classical IT dichotomies are false, and that IT is best managed by a systematic approach. Specifically, this approach views business needs/drivers and technical constraints/opportunities as part of a single dynamic system optimization problem. Solution requires a good model of these varied aspects of the problem. The system will often display characteristics of chaos (in the scientific sense of the word). That’s what makes it a challenge to solve, and keeps it engaging and fun!

Our Principal

John Thywissen, PhD, winces whenever he sees a business hobbled by the ineffective use of information technology. He’s “on a mission” to keep that from happening to your company. That’s why he founded Objective:pi LLC.

John has extensive experience guiding the appropriate design and on-time delivery of strategic technology and business solutions to large and small enterprises. He has run global technology programs as large as $800M, and quick projects as as small as $64k. He has developed and deployed technology for clients as varied as Bell Helicopter and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Dr. Thywissen also has deep computer science and software engineering knowledge and skills. He has developed experimental programming languages, and has performed research at NASA. His research has lead to multiple peer-reviewed scientific publications and two patents.
